We are doing a special bake of 50 boxes. They will be on sale on Saturday, August 8th, 2026, at the Ellis County Heritage Center in Victoria, beginning at 1 P.M.

Pinochle Tournament

Join us for our Pinochle Tournament on Saturday, August 8th 2026, from 1 - 3:30 P.M. at the new Ellis County Heritage Center located at 701 7th St, Victoria KS.

Bring your best partner for a two person team. The tournament will be limited to 20 Teams. 

$30 Entry Fee.

Josie's Gift is a Heritage Play that celebrates the history and tradition of the Volga Germans, in a modern day setting.

This event is FREE with no reservations required.

Showtime is at 7 P.M. Doors will open at 6:30.

At the Hays High School Performing Arts Center.

About the event

Derrick is a music historian and currently works at the Riley County Historical Society in Manhattan. He has taught music lessons for over twenty years, specializing in piano, guitar, fiddle, and mandolin. He currently plays the fiddle in Tallgrass Express String Band, a folk group based in the Flint Hills which plays original songs about the region.

“Kansas Music History” is part of Humanities Kansas's Speakers Bureau, featuring humanities-based presentations designed to share stories that inspire, spark conversations that inform, and generate insights that strengthen civic engagement.
