Ellis County Commission set to consider funding increase for outside agencies

As the Ellis County Commission continues to work through the 2023 budget process, it will consider the largest funding request from outside agencies in the last five years.

Ellis Co. Historical Society names new executive director

At its monthly meeting Monday, the Ellis County Historical Society Board of Trustees voted unanimously to promote Amanda Rupp to executive director. Rupp has been acting as the interim director since March 2021. She has degrees from Fort Hays State University in Art History and Graphic Design and had worked in various capacities for ECHS from 2012 to 2015.

Community support is growing for the Ellis County Historical Society. The society’s core team and new board have worked hard in the last 18 months to make gains in re-organizing its space/artifacts and planning new events/programs. We were also graciously awarded grant money.

Temporary office space news release Nov. 1 2021
Robert and Patricia Schmidt were long-time supporters of ECHS. We are appreciative of the Schmidt Foundation’s pride and
dedication to the rich history of Ellis Co. and excited to utilize this opportunity to regroup and vigorously plan for the future. The office is located in the most north-west building in the Eagle Plaza complex, address 1011 W 27th Suite F1. We are the door directly west of the gazebo.
